Our high-profile client, who operates within the public sector to better the lives of millions, is looking for a Business Intelligence (BI) Report Developer.

Reporting to the Data Hub Manager you will bring your passion and expertise to the fore in an established cohort of energetic, smart and capable BI professionals. You will be tasked to understand business requirements for automated performance reports and build reports using T SQL and BI functionality. As a subject matter expert in the business, you will use initiative and close customer relationships to identify and solve data issues and identify and fill gaps in core data and reporting for the organisation.

Working both independently and as part of a small team of BI professionals, our client is looking for someone who can confidently communicate complex data and models to senior management to effect change across the organisation. You will challenge current practices and drive service improvement through the effective analysis and presentation of data to key stakeholders, whilst working on a number of projects in a fast paced and rewarding environment!

To succeed in this role you will possess:

  • Specialist knowledge of business intelligence, data science and be degree qualified in related subject or have gained significant industry experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Demonstrable professional and technical skills associated the development, testing and maintenance of automated business intelligence reports.

  • Experience of working with senior managers to identify business requirements for automated business intelligence reporting.

  • Experience of using data marts and service systems data to prepare clear and accurate automated performance reporting services, briefing papers and reports for Directors and senior managers.

  • Experience of applying SQL/T-SQL and BI tools (e.g. Tableau, Qlik, Power BI) to deliver robust and innovative automated performance reporting to improve services and achieve greater value for money.

  • Proven knowledge of the regulatory framework around people data and data protection in handling, storage and reporting.

  • Strong experience of using TSQL, SQL server, BI tools, and advanced excel to create, test, implement and maintain automated business intelligence reports.

  • Experience of using SQL Server and processing, manipulating and analysing large datasets using SQL / T-SQL.

  • Specialist knowledge of Excel and self-service BI tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Power BI.

  • Specialist knowledge of data extraction methodologies and techniques.

  • Experience of creating, testing, maintaining and updating automated business intelligence reports for business/service.

  • Knowledge of data modelling and ETL techniques.

  • Knowledge of the public sector or corporate environment by carrying out a similar job function.

  • Proven experience of analysing data to spot trends and patterns in order to challenge current practice and deliver actionable insight to senior stakeholders.
