In this newly created, pivotal and permanent role, our prestigious client is looking to appoint a Programme Manager who will be responsible for delivering an ambitious IT Transformation Programme as part of a 5-year growth strategy.
Our client has ambitious growth plans with the key objective of driving standardisation and operational excellence across its UK sites. As a Senior member of the IT Leadership Team, the Programme Manager will be responsible for driving ‘consistency of approach’ and economies of scale across our client’s UK sites for the development and renewal of key operational systems, including the development and implementation of a ‘collaborative decision making’ approach along with the upgrade and re-architecting of the client’s core operational database and associate systems.

To succeed in this appointment, you will be a degree educated or possess extensive experience in Programme Delivery Management to be considered, firstly. You will be a ‘professional’ who possess good commercial acumen, ambition, tenacity and drive AND the gravitas to take this ambitious client to the ‘next level’. This person must be able to manage ‘right over the top’. You will need to have experience of Horizontal and vertical, although vertical is the absolute key (that’s the detail of the programme and the milestones).”
You will possess significant experience, and a proven and demonstrable track record, of delivering multi-million IT business transformation / change programmes for multi-site organisations along with the experience of leading the implementation of complex system integration i.e ESB systems.
Please note that you will need to travel to our client’s sites in the North and South East of England, so the ability to travel is integral to the role.
Other components of the appointment include:
·Excellent stakeholder management experience to board level
·Extensive supplier management and contracting experience, including the contracting of a systems integrator (SI) partners and the management of programme delivery by SI partners
·Experience at developing and gaining approval for multi £million business cases
·Demonstrable knowledge, experience and capabilities in financial planning
·Experience of working to, and certification in, structured project management methodology: PRINCE2 or PMP
·Experience in public sector procurement
·Experience working in a matrixed business environment
·Evidence of coaching and leading teams directly and indirectly to meet challenging deadlines
·Excellent and effective internal and external stakeholder management and engagement skills
·Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels
·Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, tailored to the intended audience
